Mission
- To promote and stimulate the advancement of research, education, training, knowledge, and the application of endoscopic ultrasonography in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
- To support and foster a multi-disciplinary platform for the education and training of health care professionals on endoscopic ultrasonography and also on the dissemination and application of such knowledge and information.
- To co-ordinate and link the efforts of organizations, companies, associations, societies, institutions, statutory bodies and other authorities and individuals interested in endoscopic ultrasonography with a view to enhancing the diagnostic capability and accuracy, improving the therapeutic results, and reducing the morbidity associated with intervention.
- To stimulate public interest and provide public education in endoscopic ultrasonography and to assist in keeping the medical and related professions in Hong Kong up to date in the latest development in endoscopic ultrasonography. To organize public talks & educational programmes towards the community to raise the public awareness in endoscopic ultrasonography.
- To encourage, assist and arrange medical practitioners, scientist, professionals, students, and others to come to Hong Kong for research and study as well as for teaching and demonstrating theory and practice of endoscopic ultrasonography.
- To encourage, assist and arrange medical practitioners, scientists, professionals, students, and others to travel abroad in order to engage in research, study, and training as well as to gain experience in endoscopic ultrasonography.
- To establish guidelines on the practice of endoscopic ultrasonography in Hong Kong.
- To encourage support from industry and other parties to fulfill the Society’s medical, scientific, and educational missions.
- To foster communication, collegiality, and collaboration among Members and within the international community and the medical profession in Hong Kong and overseas interested in endoscopic ultrasonography.
- To establish a close liaison with medical and health organizations having similar interest and aims in China and other countries.
- To award prizes and scholarships and to make donations in study, training, teaching, practices, and research on endoscopic ultrasonography.
- To do all such other lawful things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects.
